about this event
Improve one game. Build a new one. 48 hours to create, compete, and win up to €2,000 in prize money — solo or as a team.
Improve a game. Or build a new one. 48 hours. The Brain 1 Hackathon is a 48-hour challenge for developers, computer science students, game designers, AI talent, UX/UI designers and technical creatives who want to bring fresh ideas into Brain 1.
The Hackathon starts on Wednesday, 28 October 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Brain 1 office in Neu-Isenburg. We'll kick off with lunch, introduce Brain 1, explain the format and then let you choose your challenge:
Option 1 — Improve an existing Brain 1 game: Take one of our current games and develop ideas for how it could become better, more engaging or more effective.
Option 2 — Build a new Brain 1 game: Come up with a completely new game idea and turn it into a clear concept or working prototype.
This Hackathon is not about complicated coding or production-ready software. It is about fresh ideas, smart concepts and showing what could be possible. You can use any tools, programming languages, design software or prototyping methods that help you communicate your idea best.
You can participate solo or as a team. During the 48 hours, you can work on-site at the Brain 1 office or remotely. The office will be open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided for participants working on-site.
The final submission deadline is Friday, 30 October 2026 at 12:00 PM. Directly afterwards, we'll come together for the Prize-Giving Ceremony, announce the winners and finish the Hackathon with a relaxed get-together, food and drinks. There is up to €2,000 in prize money to win.
Attendance at the kickoff and Prize-Giving Ceremony is mandatory.
