about this event
Develop your "Environmental Data Management" solutions from 16 – 22 November 2026 and get the chance to implement the project together with SWB. CHALLENGE INCOMING! APPLICATION DEADLINE: 29 October 2026!!
"Green Data Hub: Creating Sustainable Impact from Raw Data"
Here is what awaits you: Stadtwerke Bonn and its companies regularly collect environmental and sustainability data – for example on energy, emissions, water, waste and mobility. The data comes from different companies, departments and systems. In some cases it is collected multiple times, in different units and for different reports. As part of the Green Bonn Hackathon we want to develop solutions together with you that make this data easier to use. Following the principle "collect once – use many times", a reliable and understandable basis for multiple evaluations and reports should emerge from different raw data.
Your task is to develop a digital prototype that brings environmental data together, standardises or converts it where needed and presents it in an understandable way. It should be traceable where a data value comes from, for which unit and which period it applies and how it was calculated. The technical implementation is up to you. We provide you with background information, sample data and subject-matter contacts. Show us how a non-uniform raw value becomes an understandable, verified and reusable environmental data value. Register now and develop solutions together for a sustainable future!
Prize money: 1st place: €1,500 2nd place: €1,000 3rd place: €500
Registration: The Green Bonn Hackathon is open to all interested people. Apply by 29 October via our online form for a place by briefly describing your motivation for taking part.
